Just ate 9 wet grams

i woke this morning and noticed that my shrooms had sprouted (hooray i thought) so i picked them open a can of pears (we buy in bulk) took a bite of pear then popped a shrooms ext ext until it was all gone.

man were they ever BITTER and they dripped juice too. nicetexture big fucking caps biggest yet. theres about 10 shrooms that havnt opened there gills yet so im just awaitin. im going to run to the local store to get a drink of pop before i start trippin balls. later

I take it your referring to weight, Ratio is 10:1 as a rule of thumb.
As for difference in potency between the same amounts (not weight) of wet and dry shrooms the potency difference is miniscule....

They don't open their gills either. The vail breaks, the cap open, the gills are then exposed.

It's my understanding that virtually all psilocin and about 30% of psilocybin is lost in drying. So 9 wet grams = roughly 1.4 dry.

My experience would confirm this; I've tripped pretty hard on 17g wet.

I have some very odd data for wet vs dry effects:

Test 1) 12g wet was mid level 3 (aprox the same as 3.0g dry) PF strain
Test 2) 12g wet was high level 2 (aprox the same as 2.5g dry) T.H.E. B+ strain
Test 3) 18g wet was high level 3 (aprox the same as 3.5g dry) T.H.E. B+ strain

All tests were done over two months apart. The last two tests were done with the same strain of B+. All were multispore inoculations. The first was on BRF cakes, the second two were on rye berries cased with coir. All from the first flush and eaten immedately after being plucked and weighed.

that's incorrect, mushrooms are 90% water. So you're losing 90% of the mushroom from the drying process.

I think he is claiming that you are losing 90% water + 100% of one active + 30% of another active when you dry... making a wet fruitbody more potent than the same dry fruitbody... *shrug*

20g fresh gave me a level 3 (for me 3g dried) trip, but I've only taken fresh mushrooms once. Has someone done some good weight tests before and after drying?

According (dutch-government)research: 100g fresh cubes = 7.2g dried cubes. Dried mushrooms are still +-8% water: 7.2g dried = 6.7g dry matter.

With the psilocin being lost in the drying process fresh shrooms will almost always be more potent than dry.

Depending on the shrooms(cubes?), i just might trip balls off
9 grams wet. The older i get, the harder i trip:shrug:.
Same with weed.

Technically mushrooms (Cubensis) are 92% water, 8% solid material. This is off the mushroom info at the top of the page in Cubensis growing parameters.
