Check your inoculation techniques. Did you flame the tip of the needle everytime you injected the spore solution into your jars.? Let us know how.. (the proceedures you8 used in inoculation.) It might be a bacterial contamination.------------------ To see the light is not enough.. brainnoise

yes she flamed each time before inoculating, and followed the pf tek to the letter. She also made sure to be extremly sterile as possible, including the work area.

Yeh she said she had heard that before, but she owns no animals and never has. hmmm?Well she also said its so faint purple you have to look very close and its right on the mycelium in a very small area. Plus she loosened the lids and no smell. Hmm any thoughts I can pass on to her?

Tell her to let the jars go and see what happens. The only loss would be if you threw it out when you didn't have to. See if the mycelium can over take the contam, if it is a contam. The only purple I have ever seen was when my buddys shroomz started to drop their spores, But obviously if the jars have not even been birthed yet this would not be the purple you are seeing.
