bigger needle????

Well I did my first 4 grain jars(WBS) and everything seemed to go smooth , except the syringe I used only went through the lid and then just sort of hung there while I shot my "load" of spores

I then shook the jar to even out the spore water , but is there something else I could be doing?, using bigger needles???

or starting BRF cakes and throwing chunks of that in

Use a needle from an ink cartrige refill kit. They are about 3-4 inches long.

No, you dont need a bigger needle, the spores landed on the substrate, so its ok!You will see that the solution will glide down into the substrate anyway. Even if you get uneven colonisation you can shake your jars and mix mycleium with uncolonised substrate. That way it will colonise quicker.
