free dairy compost... wow
    #1991409 - 10/08/03 11:03 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

The nursery I work at recently got a huge pile of screened dairy compost in... wow.. this shit is black and beautiful and I cant wait to see if it will support the fruitings I think it will. Composted manure straw and some deciduous mulch are the contents. it hasd been screened and pasturized already so all I have to do is growgrowgrowgrow. I think this mix will be a prime candidate for baeocystis and stuntzii cultivation as well as cubensis and some various pan species. might pasturize one more time to be safe. this shit has great moisture retention and texture. gonna stockpile buckets of this shit.

That will work for just about any shrooms. I would try growing them at the nursery, everyone will think it is just another mushroom. I have done this before. If it has mulch it might support wood loving shrooms. Good luck.

> free dairy compost... wow

  When I first moved to the islands, I visited the local dairy with dreams of collecting cow dung.  What I found instead was a huge tank where they rehydrate powder milk... no cows...no cow dung...  *sigh*

yeah bellingham washington. hopefully fruits will be had from all species. might have to wait till next season to find out about the stuntziis and baeos and libs and hispanica but I am really hoping to get the weilii fruiting. hoping that the compost will do it. if not any suggestions on what to add to the mix? pine straw perhaps? kind of hard to get in western washington but abounds in eastern washington
