I suppose you shold read the faq or go to www.nansnook.com
check the archive there , tehy've got everything.
Oh, and besides, have you tried without a glovebox? Just spraying hydrogen-peroxide in the room which you are working in should to the trick too if you are fast.

hope i could help,
Jazz

An actual *flowhood* is pretty hard to build, but is a lot more effective. A glove box is just an airtight box, usually with gloves.

I bought a Bionaire HEPA filter, and a storage bin. Cut out the sides of the bin, one for the filter one for my hands, I have used with Agar plates and it worked fine. Its an expensive way of doing it, the filter cost 60 pounds, but I am very very lazy.

Glovebox would be easier to build.

If you want to drop some money, you could actually buy a flowhood. Ive seen them sell for around $400.

To build a glovebox is pretty simple. Use a clear sterilite rubbermaid box, make sure its airtight, by using weather stripping.

Ive seen people use a 1/2" pool of rubbing alcohol on the bottom, with a grid above.

Cut holes in the side and add some industrial strength latex gloves.

I have a little glovebox (thanks Kussh) and what I did was put a fish tank pump in a filter box and hooked it up to the glovebox and that way there is a flow of steril air always going into the glovebox keeping things from getting in when I'm working.

Glovebox = easier to construct

Flowhood = more effective

I say build a flowhood. Its not that complicated. I built one, and I'm a retard.  :thumbup:
