(( percent of shrooms growing directly from horse manure are not psychoactie.
panaeolus subbalteatus is a mushroom common in horse manure compost mixed with stable shavings and hay.
Or in Rotting hay stacks at riding stables and or race tracks and farms.
Panaeolus subbalteatus is sometimes found in cow manure and is psychoatctive but its season is probably over for the year except irn rare instances where it can appear in woodchips becasue spores were int he manured toip soil under the mulch, and that would apply to the PNW, or in warmer climates where seasons extend. But a normal barn of horse manure most likely are non actie panaeolus mushrooms
. The majority of horse manure shrooms are PANAEOLUS SPHINCRTRINUS, PANAEOLUS SEMIOVATUS, PANAEOLUS CAMPANULATUS, PANAEOLUS SEPARATUS, IN OTHER WORDS, THE NON ACTICVE SPECIES OF PANAEOLUS.

Well that's good if it helped you. The thing is now, do you know what a panaeolus subbalteatus looks like? Check here for info: http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23488 Oh and an apology would be nice.

blaw707: you are gonna need to read the rules and faq in thier entireties if you want to aviod more of these thread deraillings and more importanly, if you are to aviod the serious comsequenses of poor mushroom hunting advice/pracitce.
to all who had posts deleted in this thread: i have been seeing too many threads derailled by flaming, pointless cross talk and general OTD behavior. sorry to offend anyone, but everyone will be required to follow the rules if this forum isn't going to become a topicless chatroom. one person's failure to comply dose not give everyone else liscence to chime in with another.

buddy, you cant just ask, "can actives grow on dung?" and take a yes for an answer and then eat them. you need to know what you're eating. detailed info is very important in eating mushrooms you've hunted, in case you've never realized... i hope you dont get sick one day from eating a bad mushroom. take some time and do you're reading.

I was in bad shape yesterday, extremely bad day for me, lot going on right now. But thats not an excuse. I still stand by what I said, and am quite offended it was deleted. I didn't even get a pm explaining it. Sorry, but I feel this forum needs better standards and some better rule enforcement. I'm tired of some of the BS posted here being tolerated by the moderators. The hunting forums purpose is not to aid people who don't want to learn to hunt safely, people who only want to know the easiest way to see if what they find is "magic" or not. I am sick of seeing post made by folks who are obviously underage and asking questions about controlled substances that carry a felony charge. I am tired of the exsisting rules not being enforced and people just getting warnings repeatedly. This is not a place for highschool teenagers to come ask elementary questions about which "magic mushrooms" grow in their area and how to tell "which ones are good". I know alot of us here have interests in Psilocybin mushrooms, and that may be your focus here, but tis still important to be a respectful place with a little class, not a place that helps kids trip on mushrooms. Not a place for folks who have no interest in mycology to come and learn to find "shrooms" without having to read through the "too extensive FAQ",
I am aslo shocked that my post was deleted. I have seen gumby post much worse, ands it tolerated by the fellow mods. Now I know what one person does, doesn't make it right for everyone to do, bu that is a bit of a double standard. I don't believe I even use a profane word in my post, just some harsh words of reality with a bit of my natural dickheadedness thrown in for personal satisfaction, I was having a bad day afterall
But whatever, I guess its all good. I'll try and be nice, but I am not going to tolerate posts like this and will continue to speak out on the issue eveytime I see a post like this one.

BTW: In my day, it was wrong to delete peoples post and cut and snip threads like that. It should've been locked it you felt that strongly. Now your the only known who got to see what was posted and the only who can form an opinion.

What are you talkin about man? My the lucky "he" that I was refering to was blaw707, not you dude. What I meant was I would have locked the post if I would have gotten to it first. The question asked is just rediculously vauge and full of ignorance.
You know we share the same views, LK... I don't even know what you posted but chances are I would have let it stay.

Naw gumby, I know you were referring to the poster and not me when you said "hes lucky you got there first and not me". My last post was concerning concretes desicion to delete my posts. I was rather upset about it. Nothing personal really, I like concrete, I think your a great guy and make some wonderful contributions around here, I just think you made a bad call. I'm not flaming, I have made plenty of bad calls in my mod days. I just wanted to voice my thoughts. I hate being silenced
Lets move on, my apologies everyone.

speaking of off topic...
no offense or anything guys but im sure this can be handled in PM's and how can blaw say the FAQ is too extensive, It takes all of 5 minutes to go through it, its not like you need to read about every species of active shrooms before you go, you should hunt and then research the ones you bring back. now im off topic, peace out guys

If it's too extensive then he should not be involved in the forum. End of story. Every decent forum has a set of guidelines that users must abide by. I agree with LK, if you're too lazy to read a SIMPLE set of quidelines, you are not ready to identify and ingest mushrooms.
