HEPA filter

Hey, i'm gonna be getting some spores soon, and not wanting to fail I went all out on the stuff to get and got a hepa filter, as suggested by a friend if I could purchase it. I'M just wondering if i'm still going to have to cover up my holes in the jar if I have the jars in a big empty closet thats been sterilized with bleach on every wall/shelf with the hepa filter running 24/7...I was also wondering if the coffee filters (if I do decide to cover the holes) are liable to bring in contams when I stick them on.

Nope, I have just covered the jars with foil, some people use a bit of pillow stuffing material stuffed in the top.
First 2 batches were fine, third batch got tric. mold, (well half of it, and the half that got it were all from the same print so I guess it was a contam'ed print, the other half was fine)

What ever you cover them with, make sure it gets sterilized too though, otherwise you will just be putting contams in yourself.

With the coffee filters, if you want to use a filter disk, soak it in h2o2, it will kill most things landing on it, including spores, but they should be safe deep inside the jar. Mycelium is able to defend itself againts h2o2.

damn, I just dunno where to stop sterilizing, rather over-do it than under-do it like last time, I think i'll bleach a bowl, bring it in my sterilized zone, and soak the filters in peroxyde in there...any idea how good a job the hepa filter will do anyways? I'm hoping it will do a good job, there not cheap ^^
says on it its gonna stop mold, and that sorta cut my first and last time a lil short ^^

no need to bleach that bowl if your going to put peroxide in it..
avoid using bleach with your grow as it is a known precursor of dioxin.

so to sterilize my closet surfaces should I use peroxyde all over instead of the bleach? Or is it alright if I spray say a week before inoculation and spray the pressure cooked jars /w peroxyde to kill anything that got on from the kitchen/closet trip?
