Dunk 'n Roll vs Casing

I know someone who will have some brf pint cakes that will probably be ready in a few days. however, he was wondering whether it was worth the risk and effort to make an actual casing as opposed to doing the dunk 'n roll between flushes. Would there be any differences in yield to make casing worth the effort?

Tremor, are you referring to dried grams or wet grams? If you yielded that much in dried grams, thats awesome!

The consensis of opinion would i imagine certainly conclude that casing is a more effective fruiting method. However, I personally prefer cakes that hav been dunked and rolled, and I have had flushes of up to 100 grams from a cake. I find cakes less hassle... and also quicker as there is no extended colonisation period.

I?ve gotten good results casing BRF but the average I get from a cake is 8 to 10 grams dry using the dunk and roll. The difference between casing BRF and dunk and rolling seems to be not that big.
Am I gonna say it?s better then casing. Hell no. I just feel if your gonna case there are much better substrates then BRF. Well like all of them. Straw, Rye Berrys, the one I like Millit, all of which will out perform BRF in casing and are very easy to do.
Now BRF ( in my opinion is) very contam resistant compared to other substrates. That makes if fun to play with.
Damn I wish I thought of the dunk and roll with this thing.
