I'm sorry, but this election shiznit has just gotten buckwild. Everybody's posting saying "hey, vote for me". Sometimes I hadn't even heard of the person asking for it. Hell, the first election's results weren't that great. Anyway, I think Suffer is doing exactly what he should. Where's the love? :smile:

Cap'n Jack,
Give me a bit of backround. I have been following off and on for quite some time now. I have never seen open net voting for moderators, anyway. This isn't how the moderators are decided on, is it? I just wanted to get some backround on this. Didn't put much merit in these threads, but did have a good time perusing posts to see where it would lead. Got pretty entertaining.
Also realize I have posted little, for my own reasons. That's probably why I am uninformed on this topic. Rest assured, I will be changing the watching to participation now. I am just limited on the amount of time I am able to check in. Will do my best, though.

First week of November there was an election for all forums. It was essentially a popularity contest. That was bad enough, but there's more. Some people were elected based on their knowledge, but they made shitty moderators. Ever since, people have begged to be voted in, as if there was a constant election.

I think moderators should be changed only as the administrators see fit.

Thanks for the reply. Took awhile to get back to this thread. It at least gives me a better idea of what's been going on. Kind of explains a lot of what I have been seeing. Appreciate your time and efforts on this site. You and other old timers have been a great help. Been a watcher for the most part, but have learned a great deal. Finally realizing I have a debt due payable in participation. Will be participating now as much as I can, time permitting. Unfortunately, time is in short supply. Yes, Suffer is doing a great job . . . he is doing exactly what he was voted in to do . . . to wit: Moderate.

And, yes, my statements ARE biased. I like Suffer, I know Suffer, and I know he is fair-minded.

Some of the "flaming" going on over the weekend was, to say the least, unbelievable (guilty!) I will never let myself get so out of it (well, not without drugs, anyway).

Well if for no other reason, we should at least have an election to get rid of our non-posting moderators.
