Went for a walk a few days ago with a mate of mine, after about 4 hours we had only found 1 or 2, towards the end of the day though we got lucky in a patch of ferns, collecting over 100g's of fresh subs. Was a good day Here are a few photos of what we found, and I was wondering if anyone knew what those blue mushrooms with the gold centre are?

consider creating a shadow over the subject, or block it from direct sunlight. It helps heep those hotspots and glare from the wet cap down

I think the small ones are subs as well, if so they should have bruised after a while. slinkypop, it's considered not right to take pins that young. Best karma to let them grow a bit larger, and you also get more mass of similar potency. That way they get a chance to shed some spores and possibly reproduce.

I really hope they are subaeruginosa pins! They just don't quite look like them I see no bruising. The pics are obviously taken from when they got back home and by that stage and in that timeframe you would think fresh pins like that which have been ripped off at the base of the stem would be bruising heavily by then!!!

Thanks guys! Yes the pins were subs, took them a few hours to bruise blue though. Tas75 thanks for letting me know, I thought that might have been the case but decided to pick them anyway, as it is late in the season and I wouldn't have had another opportunity to go back out and pick them later on.

Hey guys and girls. Just wondering as te season just been was my first hunting in tasmania. I'm curious as to whether that was considered an average season in terms of yield or what? I still have heaps left that will easily last me the year or two. Curious as to how all locals compared it to previous years.
