Nice pics, you shouldn't have to rotate them yourself. When you upload check the box underneath that says "Automatically correct orientation based on EXIF data? (Uncheck if your images are rotated incorrectly after uploading.)"

yeah pretty magic moment when I stumbled across it, I've got a library of over 200 images of this patch start to finnish, nice little pat on the back from mother nature after 100's of hours trotting round in the wet woodies

Mind if I ask what part of the state you're in? It looks as though it's in a woodchip bed, correct?
You've inspired me to go out and look in some new places today!
Although I very rarely trip any more, I still love to go out and find mushrooms.

Ah, righto. I'm down south, so you don't need to worry about me raiding your patch
I get a lot more satisfaction going out, finding and photographing the mushrooms rather than tripping. I still pick what I find, but I rarely eat what I find. I generally give the mushrooms away to friends who ask for them.

Haha, trust me, if I knew you I'd be more than happy to offload a bunch of subs to you. I trip maybe once per year, the rest are just wasted if I don't give them away.
I don't think the double capped mushroom is a psilocybe. It does look very interesting though... I wonder what it is. If it is a psilocybe then

Just outside having a smoke and thought I'd look in a place where I found some subs a few years back.... And I found this lonely little guy.

It looks somewhat similar to the undescribed species I find growing in a fern in my bathroom, but after some close inspection I believe it's just a sub.

the two headed joined cap is likely to be a small Coprinus atramentarius. many fungi do that when grown too close together, the fibers that form the fungi inter join and grow around each. I have seen the same thing many times with a variety of species.
That may well be a sub. they grow like that with no air flow (too close to that log i reckon). the one a friend of mine found in their kitchen a few years ago, had the same look. tiny little cap, with fat long stem. did that bruise blue?

It certainly does have some blue bruising, but not as pronounced as with other subs... like I said, it does look similar to the undescribed species in my bathroom. I am printing it on foil now.
I found subs in that exact location (or very close to it) several years ago, so I suspect it is a sub... but you never know, it could be something exciting.

I've started a thread with these pics in MH&I to get some more responses. Normally I would have said it was a sub, as I've seen first hand just how much they vary from patch to patch, but something about this one just seems off to me. I could be wrong though, and it may just be a sub....

I don't know, I'd go a long way to pick a patch like that.

True, it does look amazing. Would love to see it in person, but I guess I'll have to settle for pictures at the moment...
Would love to see some more pics in the next few days once they start maturing.

Since you're the go to guy for Tassie identifications, what do you make of the the print and dried specimen?
The print is almost invisible without the flash from the camera.
