the whole thing and the mycelium jumping off the surface sort of looks like rhizo growth and sort of looks like aerial mycelium but to me it looks like a reaction to some bacteria.

Any suggestions as to what to do about the bacteria? Anyway I can fight it off? Thank you for the information.

just keep on keeping on there's nothing you can do about contamination if it's bacterial it will probably make 1-2 flushes if not more. if your contamination is mold it's always a toss out situation unless you have some small cobweb problem h2o2 could take care of but I've seen that like 2 times ever on someones grow out of lots of grows so you'll probably never ever see that.

I don't believe its mold. I havent seen any other signs of contamination either, just wasnt sure if it was myc fluff or something else. Also, would you say this looks colonized enough to case it? the whole top of the area was seen in all of the pictures. I'm afraid the sides and bottom isn't colonized yet because I cant see due to black trash bag lining.

if the top is done the whole thing is done. mycelium grows in a sphere.
I don't see any mold, just what could be bacterial and maybe it isn't even bacterial but I think it is.
I wouldn't bother casing it for your first grow.

Why not case it? I've read people say they don't case and some say they do, but my friend that has gotten me into it is suggesting casing. It helps better pinset right? And keeps moisture at the right level? I've also heard that you'll yield more if you case. I was going to case with peat.

The majority of people don't case cubes the vast majority, casing layers can help but I would only do them on tub I was 100% positive was 100% clean.

I understand. Is there anyone else that would not recommend casing? Or are there others supporting the idea of casing? If so why or why not? All advice is appreciated

I wouldn't bother casing it either. It's your first grow man. One step at a time. It will do just fine without casing. Mine do

Alright, I just keep reading that casing helps better pinset equaling better yields. But, since this is a new hobby, "one step at a time" comes to play. Thanks everyone! I'm doing a double tub shotgun fruiting chamber. I should remove aluminum foil and set the top tub on top and introduce to fruiting conditions? Should I mist the insides just once? Any other preparations I should take into consideration going from vegetation to fruiting stage?

Wait for casing to colonize or fruit right after colonizing? I personally think that I should incubate my colonizing casing, then introduce to light. Does anyone else have any other methods?

you don't need to incubate room temperature is just fine unless room temp for you is under 65F Light is good during all stages of growth don't keep them in the dark.

Alright thanks a lot! A lot of people told me not to case. I made a mistake of not making sure my sub was even all the way across in my tub, which was going to make for bad pin setting in some areas. So I went ahead and cased in hopes of bettering the pinset.

Any estimate of how much I would yield from 4 BRF cakes spawned to hpoo, cased with 50/50 peat/verm? I know its hard to say because no one knows exactly how sterile I was or anything, but estimates, past experiences?

Just recently started to see pins in my double tub so exciting! I have a question for anyone reading this, I have a SGFC in the form of a double tub. I've read that you only mist the sides of the tub once in a SGFC, but I was wondering if this is true? I'm worried they might lose water or something. Would it be okay if I misted every few days? Thanks everyone

I crumbled my cakes and spawned to hpoo, cased with peat. I just wasn't sure if I'm supposed to mist my sub or not. I know casing helps with humidity and all, but it's still worrying me a bit that they might dry
