Punch through the foil, and don't ever order pre-made anything again.

Than you. And yeah, I've done tons of research and I know better than to get pre made supplies, but living with my girlfriend and her mom so I'm wanting to be really discrete with it. But thank all of you for the replies. I really appreciate it. I hope to be able to be the one answering questions like mine someday!

Throughout the past 11 days I've moved my jar around to various dark spots, trying to find a higer temperature. The temperature fluctuates a lot so I'm not exactly sure which spot is better. I also have a plastic drawer, could I put a heating pad under the plastic bottom, only on the front half, then put a folded towel down and set the substrate jar on the towel in the back half? Is placing it only on the front half a good idea for trying to warm the whole space? Or should I set directly underneath. It's 16"x12"x8?

I happened to come across a big bag of vermiculite at work last night. I wasn't sure if this is what can be used in my process. If so I was going to take a few scoops. Is there anyway I could store this properly? This is what it looks like

I think you would be better off searching the forum for each separate question you've asked there buddy. You'll get yr answers and learn in the process...not being a dick but that would prob be better for you than getting drip fed

Ouch... That's specialty verm. I only use regular verm. That stuff will work fine. I would store it in.. The bag it came in.
Did you still have a question?

Thank you for the reply! I'll probably end up buying the right verm. Just thought it would be an easy score lol. But, I have a ton of questions as a first time grower. I've been doing my research to try to learn as well as find answers. But one of my biggest questions...I inoculated a grain bag and the temperature has been around 70-72 degrees, is this temp alright for colonozation? And once it's fully colonized, can I use a light to trigger fruiting, or should I just sit it on a dresser in my bedroom with filtered sunlight. The instructions on the bag said not to open it until harvest, but I was wanting to be able to mist and burp the bag ever so often to replenish water. Should I just let it take it's course?

That verm is OK to use it's verm. Verm is verm except some is fine-med- or coarse but it all will work if you pay attention to field capacity.

My house has dropped drastically in temp. Are my jars that are colonizing right now going to slow in growth only during the temperature drop, or is it going to effect the time overall?
And also, if someone could tell me why I can't start a new forum would be greatly appreciated

Well when I click my threads it says forum permissions, then under that it says "You cannot start a new forum"
I'm not too worried, was just wondering lol.
But as an update to anyone that reads this. My house has been out of heat until the pilot light is fixed. It's been somewhat cold for about a week and a half. Temps have been about 60-65 degrees in the room I have my jars colonizing in. I was wondering that if this is only going to slow the growth only during the temperature drop, or will it slow the overall growth down? Thanks guys.

I know this is off topic. Took a few months break from this just started up my growing again. I spawned 4 BRF jars to some hpoo. And now it is colonizing, its been about a week and I peeked and I found "cobweb" substance on my sub. If anyone could tell me if this is the harmful "cobweb" substance Ive read about it I would appreciate it. I don't want to go spraying h2o2 on something that doesn't need it. Thanks everyone!

Are you looking at the dark spot near the bottom of the top picture? Yeah, it looks bad but that's just a shadow casting a dark color. If that's not what you're referring too, what exactly are you seeing as bacteria?
