what do you think...

Our human brains are all based on a similar model right? And our individual brains are operating on various frequencies. Much like electronic interference?, can our thoughts overlap? I don't think it is that far fetched of a concept. You probably don't notice it when it happens. A simple example: Your office partner is really hungry for some french fries, you go pick some up to eat without knowing he wants some. What do you think?

Do you think you're the first one to think about that?
After you answer that question, then I think you've answered your own question.

Err wait...a better example would be:
Have you ever saw something invented and said "DAMN! I had that idea! I should have invented that!" ??

my uncle invented the jet ski 20 years before it hit the markets... he just didn't have the money he needed to get a patent and start making them. Stuff like that happens to people all the time.
I totally subscribe the the collective unconcious theory. Once an idea hits critical mass it spreads like fire.

I do this all the time with a couple people inparticular. Just today I called my buddy because I left something at his house last week. When he answered the phone he said "I've got it right here." I just laughed and went straight there. Me and my girl are allways saying the exact same thing at the exact same time. It gets deeper than that, but yeah, I think that maybe it is based on something physical. It's also based on just knowing someone for a while. But getting to know someone could just be your physical processes finding comonality with another's physical processes.

The example I like the best is with the phone system. How many people have called a friend only to find your friend on the line calling you. Both calls occur at the same time, and neither phone rings. We worked out the odds of this happening as a class project in statistics once. I don't remember the exact number, but based on our assumptions (number of people, number of phones, etc) the likelyhood of the above happening was much less than winning a large lottery. I have yet to find a person that hasn't experienced the above, and I have yet to find a person that has won a large lottery.

Yeah, I love when that happens. It's happened to me a shit-load of times. That math project is a little flawed though due to the fact that you didn't factor in the probability of who each person would call. I doubt the president would ever call me or me him at the same time you know. It's never occured as me and some total stranger both calling the wrong number either, only my friends and me.

i think this occurence can be stretched to a link between all human minds on a very low level.. what has been called the collective unconscious, right?
Now what really spurred this post was... much like a computer virus, what about people who are constantly thinking violent, or evil, etcetera.. thoughts? Im thinking conspiracy. (You know, keep the masses on a certain mindset and you keep everyone there sort of thing)
Im sure just by cleansing your own mind and putting out good thoughts you do the world a great service. thanks for the replies, i wanted some reassurance that this was not a crackpot thought.

Why do you think rich people live isolated away from everyone? Becuase they dont want people picking up on their evil thoughts..

^^^You make it sound like all rich people are just rich for the sake of being evil. Rich people just like being rich. They live isolated away from everyone BECAUSE THEY CAN.

I just saw that, maybe it was a scene in Waking Life that reminded you of that study. The scene on the bed with the couple talking, they bring up the crossword puzzle study. (IMO, that movie isn't as great as the reviews make it out to be)

Yeah, I heard about the crossword thing in waking life, and I thought it was a fanstastic movie.
