Which is why I thought your post was insane.  We have wildly disparate tax rates.  To assert what you did is absurd.

Corruption and waste in the US are in no way out of the strictly ordinary for developed countries.  I would posit that it is probably on the low end.

US tax rates are amongst the lowest in the developed world, the problem is corruption and wasteful spending.

Well, thats the end of the fun for today. Zap is done posting and enlil is pouting about something and won't post in politics anymore it seems.

If our taxes weren't wasted and or stolen by politicians, we could pay less and still have services. The money pit that is the afghan war plus all the little stuff obuma loves to do around the world blowing people up with drones costs us trillions of dollars. We could have balanced the budget but it went down a rat hole overseas.

Holy shit you might have accidentally maybe probably conceded one point. Christ.

And unless you're asserting that corruption and wasteful spending aren't a problem, I'm not sure what's lolworthy about that statement.

It might not be as pervasive as in other nations, but it's still a problem.

So to sum it up: We've been arguing semantics for the last page or so because no reason at all.

Yes our taxes are relatively low.
Yes corruption and wasteful spending are problems.

But :lolsy: nonetheless.....

>Yes our taxes are relatively low.

Wrong, taxes are wasted. The trillions flushed down the toilet in stupid wars would balance the budget

>Yes corruption and wasteful spending are problems.

Of course. One thing for sure is we need less govt and more freedom.

Just because our taxes are wasted doesn't make them low.

They only seem low because of wasteful spending. If taxes cover costs then they are not too low and eliminating stupid spending and waste can bring that about. The left wing commie crowd wants to basically confiscate the earnings of those who are productive and hand it over to those who are not. Taxes are an easy out for them.

But taxes don't cover costs. Taxes used to cover costs.

So what has went up? Spending or taxes?

That's what I thought.

Spending obviously. You seem to think we should raise taxes rather than stop the stupid spending.

Then how are taxes high? If they can't even cover the cost of spending?

And if you actually read posts before you respond to them, you'd know that about a dozen posts ago, I pointed out that wasteful spending, not taxes, are the problem.

Try again.

How is it a circle? Do you have a learning disability?

Spending = high
Taxes = low

That's why taxes =/= spending
