Mine bloomed from Sept-November this year. Last year I had one bloom in early spring. So you never know. I leave mine outside all year even on the coldest of winter days. They endure some brutal bitter cold in west Texas.
Solipsis you can find argon at any welding store that refills bottles. I get my mig machine and cutting torch bottles refilled locally by Praxair.

I had an Ariocarpus retusus grafted onto pereskiopsis for 9 years. About 6 months ago the pereskiopsis died. I left the scion hanging on the dead stock for some months before one day deciding to put it on top of the soil of a close by Trichocereus. Last week I was watering and thought I'd see what was happening. The Ariocarpus seemed to have inflated some and to my surprise, it had grown a root.

I know there's still some old, dead pereskiopsis in there. The root is growing from the Ariocarpus though.
Was always told these don't root once degrafted. Well, they can.

Flower buds are starting to pop up over here Any Ario growers left on the boards these days? I've been getting more into them this year and I've acquired some nice cultivars to breed with.
Here are the two first flower buds of the season:
