Ariocarpus retusus, either from the Aramberri area or a hybrid. Plants from this area are frequently intermediate between A. retusus and A. trigonus, with some pink flowered forms thrown in just to add to the fun.

Yes I love Ariocarpus, been growing them for 15 years or so - I have each species of this genus in my collection.

Names - from L to R - back row - A. agavoides, trigonus, bravoanus, bravoanus, fissuratus. Front row - scaphirostris, bravoanus (seedling), kotschoubeyanus, retusus, scaphirostris.
All names being those currently recognised by the International Cactaceae Systematics Group. There have been many, many other synonyms used over the decades.
I am currently in the process of putting all my collection into unglazed terracotta pots - about 90% there.

At the risk of being called a pedantic old fart (not for the first time !)I think that first pic of yours is A. bravoanus ssp. hintonii Good old George Hinton, an eminent cactophile and botanist. He even has a genus (monotypic) named after him - Geohintonia.

Those look nice seed deposits. I have had some success growing Ariocarpus from seed-generally better with seed from my own plants than bought seed. And a couple have seeded themselves !!
Do you have any Ariocarpus seedling pics??

Thank you. You mean the gravel? I like the look of the pots with some top-dressing, and it helps keep the substrate in when I water the plants (I have several hundred pots and it would take too much time to water them as carefully as they deserve).

Oh, sorry me. They were mostly pampered, my seedlings have it easy till the day they get their own pot. From then on, life is gonna be hard (I repotted them into individual pots a few weeks ago).

Congrats! You'll find those babies will test your patience, but they are not particularly hard to grow.
