You need a good voice. I've listened to a few Audio Books, and the readers are usually the narrators or someone with a credible voice. There's a few books not available in audio, so i decided to create my own. It's not as easy as one would think. For one, i found that my voice is not very enjoyable to listen to constantly. While making it, i had to find somewhere quiet, free from background noises, and then once I began reading aloud, i found my voice would chalk up a bit, forcing my self to clear my throat. I thought it would be easy enough to edit errors out with Audacity, but when i tried that, i realised that finding the errors in Audacity was annoying too.

I have a very nice voice. Crisp, clear, loud. I read very well, no hesitation. I'm a good candidate.

That's great to hear. Try it out then, there won't be much if anything stopping you.

I'm a software developer and I work from home right now. I probably make more money than 95% of the members here.

I'm a consultant. I have worked from home for over 20 years. Some years (and some days or months) have been good and some have been real bad. You have to be able to carry yourself through the lean times and build up a reserve for the bad times. I work my own hours and I am able to take care of my family obligations whenever I need to attend to them.

You could be a inhome nurse like me, private care.
Its not very fun and its very demanding.
I need a new career.

I think a lot of careers are transitioning to work from environments. Without getting too specific, I do scientific reviews and consulting and work from home about 50% of the time.

Ha, nobody noticed how old this thread was. Working from home does sound like it could be pretty sweet though.

But your training is your strong suit, Mushie. I would think you could up your game and become an administrator for senior housing properties. The pay is great, but the hours are not great because you are always on call, but it would be a way to go.

I'm pretty much already on call lol and I work 7 days a week.
Now I realize I don't know why I posted in this thread. My job is obviously out of my home. I don't work from home but I'm my own boss.. I must have been stoned lol
I was actually thinking of becoming a pharmacy technician.
