Very nice. It would appear that the Leccinums are nearly as popular (or maybe almost as common) as the Boletes.
Happy mushrooming!

leccinum are very common and popular in poland, they grow in symbiosis with many trees, but most people think of the main species Leccinum scabrum i believe growing under birch. the orange-yellow leccinum also grows under birch. the red leccinums (L. aurantiacum or L. rufum) grow under "topola osika" which i dont know what that is in english.Leccinum griseum grows under "graby". leccinums are mycorhizal with almost every kind of tree. in higher elevations there is a species associated with spruce and usually south of poland one that grows under pine. there is also another species that grows under oak: L. vulpinum. i love leccinum, there are spectacular, and the yellow-orange ones, L. atrostipitatum are almost never maggot-ridden at all.
i will post some pictures of a few Leccinum from this year when i get my upload limit back. bye.
