Can't seem to work this out. 3 of us tried magic mushrooms last weekend. 2 people got immensly high, and found the whole thing very pleasurable. I on the other hand, ended up having 3 times the amount the others had, with absolutely no effect what so ever. I am not particularly a drug user, and have never heard of anyone being "immune" to mushrooms. I ate them whole, the same way as everyone else, and did not take any other drug that might have counteracted the effects. Has anyone got an explanation? Am I simply not destined to experience this?

damn that sucks....so when you say you didn't take any other drug do you mean illegal or perscription or both? cause ssri's can cause you to need very high amounts to trip..thats all I can think of at this point...if you don't take ssri's all I can suggest is doubling up next time....if nothing happens then....maybe you are not destined to trip(on mushrooms at least)

How much did you eat beforehand? Are you taking any medications? I'm not sure what shrooms interact with, but I know if you're taking an SSRI if you try to do E, nothing will happen except maybe you'll feel hyper.

I had a friend that LSD and MDMA did next to nothing... he could eat acid like it was candy and be stone sober... some body load, but nothing at all mentally. I don't know if he ever tried shrooms or not. I know cannabis and DXM both worked on him, but MDMA and LSD did not.

yea a buddy of mine had the same problem he had about 3 grams and felt nothing. the only kind of medication I can think of he probly took was percocet but I dont even know if that is a SSRI.

If you have to want to be high to get high, you haven't been high. The mushrooms kinda take over. You don't really have total control over the whole experience.

How much did you eat? Some people have high tolerances, a normal dose is 2 grams, what did you eat?

i have the same problem. mushrooms don't work on me. i can't find any other psychedelics either so ive been doing more addictive drugs.

Tolerance is one thing, but not feeling anything at all is another.
I have a high tolerance-5g cubes is a normal dose for me, or around 400 Mikes with Ellis.
Sucks.
But I always feel a little something...

No such thing as natural shroom immunity as far as I'm aware, and any tolerance wears off within a couple of days of use (to the point where any existing tolerance is unnoticeable).
I find the more likely scenario is that the shrooms you ingested were extremely weak, or perhaps not containing psilocybin at all (i.e., not magic mushies!), and your friends either exaggerated their effects, or fooled themselves into believing they were high/tripping.
I'd suggest either growing your own shrooms and ingesting a higher amount (5g dried should do, if you want to be guaranteed a trip), or getting them from a REPUTABLE source (there are several online).
I notice that you didn't specify the amounts ingested, but rather just said you took three times as much as your friends. Perhaps you'd like to quantify this with actual amounts, and whether they were fresh or dried?
