Why Not Pinning! Invitro

Friend has colonised cakes and doing invitro. The masking tape has been taken off, cake's top verm taken off, flipped, placed back into jars. Temp has been dropped to about 75 - 80. Its been about a week, an no pins. Whats up? Any ideas?

some strains do not even grow invitro. it's a hit-or-miss tek. wait and see... i'd suggest building a terrarium.

couldn't have said it better myself....so far ime I have noticed eqs just don't seem to pin invitro....no matter how much light they get or how long they sit....malabars on the other hand are hard to keep from pinning invitro....I even had pins before 100% colonization....my guess is they got too much light

i have an idea - take it out of the jar. :noway:

i know a lotta people want to try invitro, and neglect teks and suchlike; good luck to em, but it's pretty common for them to fuck it up and wish they did it the normal way. i'm not saying you will, just that invitro / neglect teks are not for everyone. maybe you have reasons like stealth to think about, i dunno. people who like to tinker with their hobby are better off with pampering-teks, leaving the invitro to specialists. right now i can guarantee that your invitro cakes have about 1% of the air exchange they want.

good luck anyway. prove me wrong and tell me to shut the fuck up  :lipsrsealed:

good advice....its also hard to get the cakes outta the jar without damaging the pins

I am currently in the middle of a test run for B+ growing invitro. It took 8 days after dunking for it to form pins, and it's doing quite nicely now. I've counted 8 or so. Just takes patience my friend. Hippie3 did his invitro tek with B+ (which of course tell ya that they WILL grow invitro) so I now know for a fact that they will (side note: thanx Hippie!). What strain r u using, just outta curiosity?
