I wonder how China is going to react to this. They have large concentrations of troops on the NK border for the past couple of weeks.

They are bluffing like they normally do. They just want to blackmail us into giving them free money. Kim Jong Il isn't as crazy as he seems.

which can of course, like all the ills of the world, be traced back to america. they need to arm themselves to the teeth to defend themselves against the warmongering americans and their capitalist lackeys...

i found some interesting info on the violent DMZ infiltrations and gun fights that occured with disturbing frequency from late 1966 to 1969, Kim's "Anti-Imperialist War". just like so-called vietcong "charlies" the american GI's referred to the north korean enemy as "joe chink" check it out, http://www.imjinscout.com/Brush_Fire.html

the real threat is to their neighbors.

Personnaly im glad n.korea has nukes. I would to if my country was labelled 'evil' by a guy like bush. It only common sense after all, sinse they invade without UN approval. He's only covering his ass.

iraq:
vehemently denied possessing chemical or biological weapons. denied having any nuclear capabilities whatsoever. had no ballistic missiles of any sort.
north korea:
admittedly has stocks of chemical and biological weapons. has a nuclear weapons program and is claiming to be working on producing atomic weaponry. has an extensive ballistic missile program.
the two are utterly incomparable.

I thought the story this week is that Saddam deliberately gave the impression he had chemical and bio weapons? And didn't the UN weapons inspectors find a ballistic missile with a longer range than was allowed?

Notice how the first examples government has been abolished by an unsanctioned invasion..... I'd hope the latter would not fall prey to the same mistake....they know appeasing the us means shit if they dedcide they want what n.korea has, or its beneficial to them in any way.

The missile you're referring to is the Al-Samoud Missile, capable of traveling 180 km, which is 30 km further than was allowed. North Korea's Nodong-1 ballistic missile can carry a 1,000 kg payload to a target 1,000 km away. the nodong-2, currently in development, will carry the same payload 1,500 km. they've recently tested a new missile, the Taepodong-1, which can carry a 1,000 kg payload 2,000 km and are working on a Taepodong-2, capable of flying 4,000-6,000 km. Missile Threats: An Overview the ba'athist iraq's missile capabilities were very, very different from those of north korea.
