The pledge bottle is showing early signs of contamination. You should mist it more often and make sure it's getting a 12/12 light schedule. If it doesn't recover on it's own you can try peroxide but I don't think you have much of a chance of salvaging it.

Best to go out and buy a bottle of Lysol to replace it.

Couldn't find any damn lysol anywhere, was like they were hiding it from me, so I went with any thing that said anti-bacterial.

it looks off. how's your hole placement? and hole size?
and I dont really get it, are you asking q's or just starting up and adding pics of your equipment? :tongue2:

EDIT: now I'm really confused. pre-sterilized grain bags and a sgfc? what are you trying to do? trays?
it almost seems like you want to fruit straight grains in the bag in a sgfc. if so, don't.
spawn the grain to a coir+verm substrate and mix it all in a monotub.

This is more of a growlog/review of midwest grow kits, im going to colonize the grain bag, and create a casing layer and let it fruit in the SGFC, im open to comments about EVERYTHING. Should I add more holes?

hard to say, you never said answered anything about the holes' size and placement

spawn the grains to bulk sub. cased grains doesnt work nearly as well.

Since this is more of a review than a grow log, I think im gonna go with Midwest's casing material

Excerpt from their site
"Midwest's Premium Select Bulk Casing is the perfect combination of Coco Coir, Vermiculite, Hydrated Lime, Gypsum, ph buffers, ph stabilizers, mineral water and a few other choice ingredients. Our premium casing comes fully hydrated and pasteurized and is ready to use right out of the bag! Use this along with a fully colonized spawn bag to start your bulk growing experience! Each 5 pound bag comes fully sealed and can be used right away or stored in the fridge/freezer for use up to 3 months later."

I'm trying to grow out of all midwest supplies. So im going with their pre-sterilized casing mix.

well, they don't seem to know what they're talking about IMO.
bulk sub casing mix with bulk sub ingredients to be used as a bulk sub,
but for some mysterious confusing called a "casing".

Lots of people used to call their bulk substrates in trays "casings".
it's really confusing as it has nothing to do with applying a casing layer.

just use that sub mix and mix it up with your colonized spawn in a monotub.
it's a probably the worst thing to use though, considering price, handling, shipping, and the you dont know what the fuck they've done to "properly hydrate and pasteurize" that mix.

buy some verm and coir and just sterilize it or bucket tek it.
much easier and less expensive. will probably work better as well.
but hey, it's your choice

Midwest sucks a fat one. They're a ripoff, for starters. And their information is sub-par. They try to make like they've got "insider info the other guys don't want you to know", but it's a load of shit. I bought a grow kit from them just starting out and didn't realize until a couple weeks later when I found RR's videos that the whole thing was almost completely unnecessary and I could've done it myself, more successfully, for much cheaper.

There's my input, lol.

There spawn bags are working pretty decently, and if it doesn't work I have agar and agar plates coming.

Well, at least their spawn bags aren't contaminated. One thing I can say for them is that the jars in their kit were sterile as promised.

Just a quick question, after I innoc my agar, how long does it take for mycellium growth in the plates?

When I saw it, I was oh so relieved, midwest is pretty expensive + shipping + Syringe + desiccant + Capsule Machine (I hate the taste of mushrooms, and from what I hear, these kind taste about 50 times worse)
And I now go back to watching House MD.
