How to handle incomplete colonization of a brick\shoebox

(...besides not being a dunce about preparation in the first place?)
This is my first try at bulk with 50/50. I recognize the mistakes I made in the sub preparation as far as mixing and using an opaque liner (so I couldn't tell when it was done), but now that it's been unwrapped should anything be done to remove the uncolonized sub? Maybe lightly brush it off with a paintbrush? It seems to be colonizing still, but it's begun to knot already.

The reason it came out uncolonized is complicated, and won't be repeated Just looking for advice on if I should do anything to it. It's sort of like a casing layer? Thanks everyone.

It's just 50% coir, 50% vermiculite, and some gypsum sprinkled in it so yes, I was calling it the wrong thing. Is the mixture supposed to lean more towards the coir side?
I was just excitedly messing around with some shredded up cakes and coir. I didn't take things too seriously, this time.

yea its a lot of verm, but its not hurting anything. use 2 quarts for a brick of coir. i hydrate the brick with the 2 qts verm in a bucket, then put it on a shelf till i need to sterilize/pastuerize. usually have to add more water as it will have dried some.

Thank you for the correction, I appreciate it. I'll do it like that for the other six when the time comes.

I'm pasteurizing it. In fact, I just so happen to have my pasteurization temp curve for this one
I'm not normally so anal, but it's a test project so I'm trying to make\record all the mistakes I can now and not do it to all of them later.

I think because I put the lid back on fully. I cracked it a little to try and keep it away from 170.

if ur keeping good records like that during the process, i bet u could get away with supplementing coir in a bucket.
