Sort of. I think just the nature of the way phasing works inherintly causes problems when grouping with people who may or may not be ahead of behind you in a quest line. especially when the phasing actually changes the world around you and such. When I played neverwinter there was a lot of phasing that occured and some stuff you just could NOT do with someone if they were to far ahead or to far behind because of that. So ideally if you want to do quests together wtih friends you want to try to stay at the same points, which of course is hard as fuck since no one EVER only plays the exact same time as the other.
A TON of people whined on the beta forums about it so I'm sure they will do their best to find a solution and the best sort of fix they can. But as far as phasing BUGS those should be fixed.
And the fighters guild and mage guild bosses do have to be solo'd because of the way the story works. you are being teleported into the realm alone and such.
Some other storyline stuff is solo only also, but not much.

Yeah I've played other games that had that problem to some degree too. I hate phasing but a lot of times its a necessary evil lol.. especially with large scale games.

IMO for good storytelling in a mass multiplayer RPG phasing is a requirement. Without it the world is bland and never changes, feels so static and quickly loses its glimmer.
honestly the coding behind an MMO dealing with phasing boggles my mind. try keeping track of every little change for every character for every quest and the changes to the world, npc's and mobs, interactive things, etc.
crazy

so I watched a lot of eso videos last night and from what I've seen, the pvp looks pretty damn cool, but they pve seems lacking.
I feel like if they made this f2p like guildwars it would do MUCH better.

I'm not too sure about that, look at what happened to the old republic.
me and you are cool now mndfreeze so I won't go and bash the shit out of eso like last time, i'm just giving honest opinions, I watched like 30 mins of pve footage and it just seems... empty compared to a real es game.
obviously I haven't played it, but unless they offer a free trial I can't see myself dropping 60 bucks PLUS 15 just to try it out ya know?
but I was rather impressed with a few pvp vids I saw, watching 2 factions duke it out outside of a fortress while the defenders watched was pretty cool.

Haha... give it time dude. Most games don't sell well as p2p anymore. This could be different for the obviously huge TES fanbase... but still. Especially because it's going to be on the consoles as well, I find it hard to believe it's going to stay p2p on consoles
I could be very well wrong though, who knows, maybe this will end up being bigger than WoW

PVE is fine, questing is decent. Some quests have some minor bugs but they will get worked out I'm sure. Honestly it feels like an elder scrolls game to me, I don't understand why people are knocking it.

Are the quests like elder scrolls or more like mmo quests? How big is each province, like how does skyrim in the mmo compare to skyrim the game? And is there a free trial?

You get 30 days with the pre order i believe.. probly with a regular version too.. Its like elder scrolls quests but obviously a lot of them end up feeling like more MMO quests.. It happens obviously, it's an MMO lol. But still even when doing those it feels like an elder scrolls game for sure. I don't know how big each province is or how to compare it as I'm still a lower level but I'm fairly sure its pretty fucking big. I will be finding out more as I play longer. But as for like how the quests were in skyrim with the thing at the top pointing where all the diff quests are on the compass thing.. its the same.. leveling skills and all the other shit is very similar. Keep in mind I only played skyrim for like 10 hours so I'm not the best person to be judging it but if someone enjoys elder scrolls, I don't see how they wouldn't like this unless they are a complete fanboy that wants to bitch and moan about insignificant shit.

So basically a free trial is 60 bucks? That kinda sucks lol. I'm waiting for mndfreeze to come answer my questions haha

I'm sure it will have a free trial after a while. I don't know very many online games that start out with a free trial lol.. They cost a lot of money to run. Usually they get a fanbase and offer pre order stuff so that they get enough money to get a driving force behind it. World of warcraft was kind of like that but I think Elder Scrolls probably has a lot of money and time behind it. I'm sure they're operating on the same formula to some degree. You pay for the game + you get 30 days free before your subscription starts. Them you pay monthly. A lot of MMO's go F2P because they can't hang lol.. But WoW does it well and I'm sure TESO will be in a similar situation.
or you could have pre ordered like me and mndfreeze for the extra items and a 20% the price of the imperial edition lol.. For an early start + the other bonuses
