when you squeezed the substrate, only a drip came out correct?

pf cakes wont look wet in the jar.

if they are already sterilized, i wouldnt bother adding water.
play these out until the end, wherever that may be.

if it fails, its ok, you learned that the moisture content was too low or high, and you try again.

good luck.

well i sacrificed one and check the moisture level. nice. real nice. ok so i added a little more water to that one sealed it back up and am pasturising it now. i threw all the other ones in the freezer for 5-10 mins to cool them down so i can innoculate them and forget about them for a while. ok later thanks for the reply.

I used to do cakes using 8 parts vermic 2 and 2/3 water/brf so I'm sure your water content is fine..then again I don't use a dry vermic layer and I'm sure that sucks up some water so who knows :/...I'd still say its probably fine tho

i'f your PC'ing your jars, moisture cant 'steam out' because the pressure inside the jars is equal to the pressure inside the PC.....if you mixed your substrate to the correct ratios your jars will not be too dry(they may look dry to you, there not!)
inoculate them, store them at 80+ and forget them for a few weeks.

fuck the brf, use cracked corn and cut your 3 weeks down to 2. woah then take each one and make a quart or 2 quarts, in 3 weeks you can have like 4 to 6x the amount of spawn to work with

When ever I used the 2/1/1 verm/brf/water it came out way too wet and very compacted in the jars..I went ahead and innoced with some Thai to see how it would work and after 3 1/2 weeks it is 1/2 colonized..been very slow. but yet is still finding the way thru the substrate. My next attempt, I just put the proper amount of verm in a mixing bowl and watered until there was just a small pool of water at the botton of bowl and then added BRF...those jars came out much more airy and looked as if it had the proper moisture content...point is, just try until you find a good method for yourself and go from there,,,good luck
