Yeah its real. Of course, hubble only takes pictures in black and white, all the coloring is done planet-side. But I believe they do base their coloring off of some kind of spectrum that hubble can detect, so its not like they just pulled the colors completely out of their ass.

Ahaa! So some alterations we're applied! That could also mean that the original was crappy and they smoothed the rough part up a bit..
They could have pulled them out of there... You never know how wonderfull the colors might be in there..
