how big are fruits suposed to be normally?
    #1974434 - 10/02/03 11:48 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

how big are fruits suposed to be normally? my casing has like 50+ shrooms coming up and there are 4 that are the early bloomers and they are only 3-4 inches tall with a 1 -2 inch circumfrance. there gills are open.

do they need somthing like manure or straw to make those big 6+ inch monsters ive seen? because those are the ones i want not these lil sissys. lol.

also these mushrooms have amazingly small tiny caps. i need help iding them

there stems are kinda lined in texture. there kinda baige,, there caps are brown with kinda a lined texture and a tiny white rim around the outter edge, ANY ideas what kind they are? if you could link me to pictures so i can identify them and cross referance then that qwould be so awesome.

but mostly yes how do i make my fruits BIGGER. thanks.

You dont know what kind of shrooms you are growing? Where did you get the spores from? I assume there cubensis. The caps are open, not the gills. Poo/straw gives you 12"+ monsters, 6" are small for poo/straw. Youl actually learn to like smaller fruits, big ones take longer to dry, alot longer.

I got a few 8-10" ones just using my mycobag cakes in a terrarium. There's some growing now after a dunk and roll and I have a feeling I'm going to get some monsters. And yeah, they're a fuckin bitch to dry. I have to fan dry for like 3 days and even that doesn't cut it.

the deeper the substrate the higher the shrooms. (Of course other things like humidity, strain etc do also have an impact)
