Believing in a physical universe like I do, would require plants to have brains before being able to think. As they don't have these, I conclude they can't think.
Plants can sense though, but that's not the same as thought.

Read The Invisible Landscape by Terence and Dennis McKenna. According to them, consciousness isn't created in the brain, its WAY too big for that. They believe the brain functions as a reciever for a sort of universal consciousness. So maybe the plants are tapped into that in a different way than us. Incidentally, my first solid trip, I came up with a similar idea (i'm sure its pretty common) and then when I read The Invisible Landscape, I remembered more of my trip and could totally related to what they were saying.

I haven't read the book. But I can guess it's a nice theory and all, but completely unfounded in science and the physical universe.

Nice theories are just that, they're worth nothing without some scientific facts. Sure you can believe those theories, but you can also believe that the whole universe was scraped from the armpit of a giant alien.

I don't understand why so many people become spiritual after tripping (or maybe spiritual people are more inclined to trip). Tripping is just your mind not funtioning as it's supposed to, because of a chemical inbalance. Ofcourse you'll get strange ideas in this state. Yeah you might experience being connected to a universal consciousness, but that's just your brain malfunctioning.
IMO, Tripping is fun and you can learn about yourself, but you can't use your tripping experiences as a basis for a physical theory.

My take on the salvia entity after several years of experimentation:

A female entity, ancient.. perhaps as old as Earth itself.

Is intimately connected to, or is, 'the force of nature'

Has a very overwhelming, dominating presence

Is wise beyond all the years of the trees and the moon

This entity is best experienced in nature, such as a forest, and a large body of water can do wonders to the 'trip'

This entity does not like modern civilization, it's pollution, it's ignorance. As such, she can be downright terrifying to someone who has been going against "the way" and smokes salvia. She is good at scaring sense into people.

My last salvia experience was the most insightful one I had ever had. I exchanged intimate dialogue with the being as I meditated in nature beforehand. I felt her pain, and I felt her anger. I saw her manifested in every tree and plant and blade of grass. She gave me the impression that she is absolutely "hardcore"..for lack of a better word.. she has seen the horrors of what humans can do to nature, and has lived through the most vicious of times, still standing strong.

To me, salvia is a teacher of reconnecting with nature, often accomplished by scaring the living shit out of you, from your regular "day-to-day" reality. It shows us that there are other realities in this world besides our own, and that they are just as important to the symbiotic community which we SHOULD be living in.

Salvia is a gentle mother, and a ferocious monster capable of defending her young.

This is not a recreational plant. It is a spiritual learning device. Use it only as a tool for gaining wisdom. Learn from it. Salvia is good at destroying fragilly constructed yet stubborn realities and personalities of the EGO. It will shatter your every thought and preconception of what reality is, and suck you away into bardos(HELL) if it wants. If you have some pride issue or are taking salvia just to 'get fucked up'..you will definitely learn your lesson quick. This is a plant to be used with only the most humble respect. Respect it, and it will respect you. Fuck with salvia, and it will FUCK YOU UP. That's a warning to everyone who wants to try salvia to get high. You'll get high alright...

Hmmm... interesting thought... every time I have smoked Salvia has been while laying on a water bed...I might have to take a walk to the beach tonight and give it a try under the moon with the ocean waves thundering at my feet.

> Salvia is a gentle mother

The first time I met her, she appeared as my mother, not just a mother... she called to me when it was time to go and showed me the way home.

If you smoke it by the ocean, I can almost guarantee it will be a most enlightening experience. Some may not like what salvia shows them.. but she only shows you what you need to see.
