    #1974172 - 10/02/03 10:33 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

hello all...
im posting a question with regards to pressure cookers, as i was wondering who owns and has experience with 'presto' cookers.....
i am interested in purchasing one of thier models, and would appreciate any feedback, and/or perhaps the names of other brands of pressure cookers that are good...
thanks
regards
inCreD

innoculate after pc'ing or you will cook your spores.

incredibledibll - go with an all american if you can. i bought a presto less than a year ago and the seal is no good on it now. i lost a whole batch of grain jars because i couldn't pc them after i filled them. i ordered a new seal earlier this week, as well as an all american pc. i'm getting rid of the presto.

Good call eric_the_red, the ring on my presto went out after using it only 5 times, what a POS! I will probably replace the ring so I can have one for quart jars, and one for pint jars. Hopefully the ring that came with the PC was just old, if the second one does not last, to E-bay it goes.

Ahh.....My first post...and I must say "a profound statement!"

Thanks Shroomery.org for all the great advise!

All American Pressure Cookers are built to last for generations. They get my vote.

My order of preference is:
1. All american sterilizer
2. All American PC
3. Presto
4. Mirro

that's all I have experience with, and if you're not buying all american, I do prefer the prestos over the mirros. For the 20-22qt models that I had, the presto was MUCH more quite, and the pressure gauge is incredibly handy. I think I also paid about $5 less for the presto.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
