Rocky Mountain Mushrooms and friends *pics*
    #1974154 - 10/02/03 10:26 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I went on vacation to the rocky's about a month ago.  I forgot i took mushroom pics so i thought i would share them with you.  I found these at the Rocky Mountain National Park.  If anyone wants to take a stab at the id, go for it

Thats the reason why i ran across the mushrooms, i was trying to get a picture of the moose.  There was group of about 5-6 of em, really neat.

1. Cortinarius sp.
2. Cortinarius sp.
3. Cortinarius sp.
4. Cortinarius sp.
5. Suillus sp. (large one), Cortinarius sp. (small one)
6. Suillus sp.
7. Moose

Yeah, there are a *lot* of Cortinarius here in the Colorado Rockies. Suillus, too.

Nice moose photo. I don't think I'd get that close to them. Moose are big, and they can be aggressive.

Happy mushrooming and moosing!

looks like a beautiful place to hunt.
btw; not-in-musk male and not-with-calf famale moose are safe to be near as long as you don't harass them.

[edit: don't try to pet them either ]
