Any Programmers out there?
    #1973912 - 10/02/03 09:01 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I'm going to skool for Computer Science; taking Visual C++, Java, and Assembly this semester. Wondering if anyone else is into programming and can recommend some good forums to look into?

i like to play with code a bit, though i'm not very good at it. i used to be into scripting ircii but that hobby has faded away. the closest thing i've done to programming for quite some time is making simple little shell scripts for my own personal use.

do you read newsgroups? you can find lots of useful information on usenet, and a lot of helpful people, but a lot of spam/spammers as well. i don't know of any forums to recommend.

Yes there are a few. Shoot me any C++ questions anytime if you want.

I wouldn't recommend books until I know what level you're at now.

Ouch... that is quiet a load unless you already understand the basics of programming and the object oriented model. If I were in your shoes I would take java first, then c++ the next semester. C++ is much more complex than java, but what you learn in java can be used in c++.
