I finished restoring a 1980 Brass Pearl snare drum I got on E-bay. it is 8x14 size and was an option on a Pearl 'Genesis' drumkit in 1980. It was a lot of work, but I have it with all original pearl parts. And I got sore hands from buffing the shit out of this drum.
Here are 2 before, and some 'after' pics....

Sounds exactly the same. It just looks better. When I say the same, I mean, at 8x14 size, brass, 15 pounds, its the loudest fucking snare drum on this planet, and it has a sick crack and ring to it. Very good sound, I'm going to try to get it recorded at Studio West in SD next Saturday.
My fucking hands hurt like a bitch from buffing. After I finished refinishing it, I finally figured out that it is just like a metal car--apply some turtle wax and buff like hell.

I might get to record it next Saturday since I will be over at Studio West next saturday, they are giving people 15 minute recording slots during a drum show, on one of their kits but I think can use own snare. I'm taking two snare drums over, this one and an 8x14 free floating maple shell.

So what are you doing with it?
Are you gonna keep it or sell it?
