They pretty much grow all year in my area if the rain is sufficient enough found some pans & cubes in January with 40degree weather days before the hunt. So if the moisture is right the caps show sight....

It's almost all pans right now, look for well manured areas close to water (higher humidity) that gets lots of shade. In my fields, pans grow consistently from September to May, then June to August it's Cubes cubes cubes by the pound. Once it has been in the 80's + for a week Cubes become way more prevalent then pans in my experience anyhow.
FYI: The poe poe also know where to go. I've been searched many times while trying to get in my car from a field, but I have a strong 5-0 sense so I stash my stash in the woods for later retrieval mwahaha.

Great thread. Just got free tickets to Florida so I'll be heading down there in a week. Never been before but I'm really looking forward to it. Definitely going to be out hunting. Now I need to research some species that live around where I'll be. Don't know if actives grow around where I'm going but that would be amazing. Only one way to find out.

They grow all over Fl as long as there is some livestock in the area and its has a high moisture content. What part of FL are you heading?

Yea my father told me he used to pick quite a bit down there during the spring months. I'm headed to Palm Bay. Digging around for some information now. Never been that far south so I'm really looking forward to the change in scenery for a bit.

Damn! Nice finds. I'm frustrated because i just went hunting again yesterday for a few hours and the results were less than desirable. I found a field that yielded cow patties but they were dry and i could see no livestock in sight. I was out in the middle of nowhere, away from civilization and had no good finds. I then went by a rather large big-chain store where a field with cows and horses were, but it was dark and I could only quickly scout the field because it was by a main road and security from the store came looking. Luckily, I was shielded by tall grass and trees. Plus, I think the cows knew what I was up to and walked right in front of me when the security came up, as if they were trying to give me cover. The field seemed perfect, so I think maybe somebody beat me to it. It is one of three fields that are relatively close to civilization near Orlando. I literally saw shrooms growing in another of the three fields when I drove by, but the field is so small and most visible by others than anywhere else, so I didn't risk it. The cows were chill, though.
So far, I still have yet to find anything. I refuse to give up hope though. When I finally find a good field while it's producing, I know it will be twice as sweet. I plan on going next weekend if the weather permits it. Wish me luck. Good vibes, everybody.

I recommend using Google Earth to scout fields that are outlined in green. Meaning they are public property and anyone can walk on them. That's how I found my first field. Never went hunting anywhere, and it just so happens the very first field I go to was fruitful.

I found these while in my girlfriends cow pasture. Does anyone know if they are active and what species they are? They were found in cow dung.

Psathyrella sp., not active. Active species will bruise blue where they are damaged. Next time make a new ID request thread

Cool bluing on the Copelandia
For the others, the first is Bolbitius titubans, second is a coprinoid, third is Hexagonia hydnoides.
