Spring Bluegrass Song

^Spring Walk by Brushfire Stankgrass I think this song captures spring pretty well, check it out if you dig bluegrass, or string bands in general.
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky
You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by
I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me
I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

All bluegrass captures spring. It is the happiest of all genres.

Listen to this epic bluegrass song then: You could say it captures spring too, but in a completely different sense, it captures it in the sense of the cycle of life and death, but it is certainly not a happy song

What would you consider that then lol? Railroad Earth is most certainly a bluegrass band.

But that's certainly not a Bluegrass song.
Maybe Americana, but not Bluegrass

Instrumentation has been an ongoing topic of debate. Traditional bluegrass performers believe the "correct" instrumentation is that used by Bill Monroe's band, the Blue Grass Boys (mandolin, played by Monroe, fiddle, guitar, banjo and bass). Departures from the traditional instrumentation have included accordion, harmonica, piano, autoharp, drums, electric guitar, and electric versions of other common bluegrass instruments, resulting in what has been referred to as "newgrass."
Now that is the recent wiki definition but I'm an old school guy and don't think drums are part of it. Maybe a washtub. Just my Kentucky roots showing through the dye job. It didn't really sound bluegrass either, just folk. Which is fine.

hmm most bluegrass bands I listen to have drummers but I guess I can think of some that don't. That song certainly isn't traditional bluegrass but I still think it has some grass in it, I guess most of what I consider bluegrass would fall into the "newgrass" category but they all have a lot in common.

I gotta agree with ya, man. I prefer a "strings only" style of bluegrass.
And this is comin' from a harmonica player!
