look at it this way, you've got years of experience in your current field. if you decide to go and try out this new career and for whatever reason it doesn't work out for you, that doens't somehow invalidate those years of experience. you can just go back and get another job doing what you where doing. even if the company you currently work for won't take you back (so long as you leave on good terms they should) you can just take that resume and get a job at another company.
I recently went through something similar, been doing security for years, ended up leaving that field and getting into warehouse work for better hours and comparable pay, I've still been getting calls to do ocassional bouncing gigs simply because of my track record and connections, so just because you've "left" a field, doesn't mean you can never go back to it.

I kinda have a moral dilemma with that.
if you have a moral dilemma gravitating around killing pesky bugs and shit then you might have an underlying drug problem
And besides you rely on dead organisms to survive. Also if you wash your hands then your dooming little germs and their whole families.
apparently we have different morals.
It would appear so. I get what you mean but I only get it when I come down from psychedelics. In the mean time I don't see it as immoral, in fact I see it as something that needs to be done, bugs must die. I agree with the guy who made the point about exposing yourself to nasty chemicals.

dude, i dunno... sorry i don't have any solid advice but... from what i'm seeing... you got a good job at this garden center, you got interest in plants more then paper, and it's not like being an Orkin man is gonna be that luxurious over being the thing that... well, that you actually like doing yourself, even on your own time.
plus, like psi, said, poisons and shit will kill ya; it just ain't good to be around that shit... plus that stuff kills plants man... you wanna be the guy who loves plants but kills 'em too?

i'd stick with the evergreen job unless you're an artist looking to get your products out there.
