How Important is the Humidity Really?(for casings)
    #1970251 - 10/01/03 08:09 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

If I put a casing in a poor mans pod that maintains a roughly 95rh, would I encounter any big problems? I know that the humidity is a bit high for fruiting, but would it really make that much of a difference?

I think that the high humidity will leave you more susceptable to contams. It's possible that the pinset may be smaller. It's not that serious though. If you're humidity is too high, just fan more. A friend never even checked the humidity with his casings. He just sprayed the walls and inside of the terrarium lightly every other day or so and misted the casing when it looked dry. Using coir/verm will help because it changes color when it is dry.
