Great post.

Have you ever gotten one of those spam mails that claim to be from some African government official who's got millions of dollars waiting in a bank account somewhere and he just so happens to want to put it in YOUR bank account for safe keeping. "Just send me your account information" he says. Another, similar, scam is when you get a notice in the mail saying that you're the winner of some international lottery in Spain or someplace that you didn't even enter so please send your bank account info. so we can transfer the money immediately.

Basically, the evidence supporting the idea that Saddam had WMD and was in a position to use them against the West was about as convincing as these scams. The fact that the Bush administration presented this evidence as sufficient to launch a war of foreign invasion and get us into a nightmare quagmire proves EITHER that they were lying OR that they are raging imbeciles who have no business being anywhere near the levers of power. Bush supporters can take their pick.

Ya, Monica's the type of woman you sleep with when you're really wasted and then hope your friends don't find out.

It's obvious to me that ol' Billy showed a serious lack of judgement and also showed that he couldn't be trusted. After all, if a man cannot keep an oath to the woman he married, how can anyone in their right mind expect him to keep his word to the over 250 million people of this nation that he never met and show fidelity to the concepts held in the constitution?

But, now we have to deal with this other lying bastard and his propaganda machine...

Was Martin Luther King untrustworthy? He betrayed his wedding vows too.

If true, yes. Not a very Christian thing to do for a REVEREND, wouldn't you say? I claim no religious affiliations, and I am a damn sight better looking that the late Dr. King (or so I have been led to believe by numerous females) and yet I have found it very easy to keep my word. But to me, when you give your word, you should keep it. After all, how difficult is it to beat your meat instead of being a two faced lying bastard to the woman you gave a solemn vow to and whom you claim to love?

Can we get back on the topic of the thread? I consider people dying a little more serious than Clinton getting a blow job. Does anyone else?

Oh, I agree. I've never cheated on anyone before either. But some people just have more difficulty staying faithful than others, yet are otherwise decent human beings. All I'm saying is don't base your trust in someone based on that. Bush seems to be pretty loyal to Laura, but he led our nation to war on false premises.

A great site that keeps a daily chronicle of the Bush lies. Since there are so many, prepare to spend some time. Make a cup of coffee. Put some brownies in the oven.

I think this is the most telling lie of all. I remember watching Rummy say this on tv during the war. He looked directly into the camera and said that they know exactly where the WMD's are. The slimy bastard didn't even blink. I just can't believe that some people still believe the Bush Admin.

How are we supposed to trust these people to run the country properly when they lie about matters of life and death so easily. The Bush Admin has lost all credibility in my eyes.

Didn't you hear? He 'overstated for emphasis'.

Quote:

The Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, offered his own roll-back...when he was asked to clarify his March 30 claim on weapons of mass destruction that "we know where they are".

Mr Rumsfeld said: "Sometimes I overstate for emphasis. I should have said, 'I believe we're in that area. Our intelligence tells us they're in that area, and that was our best judgement.' "

--------------------
The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame".

In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience.

And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him.

"Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

"Said drones can't fly more than 300 miles, and Iraq is 6,000 miles from the U.S. coastline."

Not reading the rest of that, but that's already a very stupid statement. Hey, the average trooper can only go about what, 30 miles a day? It's probably a different number, but that doesn't matter, do you suppose they walk all the way from the US? Drones and AWACs have no problem surveying far-away countries, from either foreign airports, or carriers.

Hang on, so the nonexistent iraqi aircraft carriers are going to take the nonexistent drones, carrying the nonexistent WMD, to within 300 miles of the US coastline?

Damn, that sounds like some threat...

Regardless, what disgusted me most was,i believ in january, i had tuned to cnn to hear bush talking of iraq. He put on that chilling smirk with glossy eyes, and said "our only interest in iraq is the liberation of the iraqi people." But what stuck to me was the manipulative, deceptive, smug look he gave as people applauded his statement. It is disgusting, and i can't see how you could not think this person a decieving incompotent bufoon.
