Yellow-Cracking Bolete?
    #1969191 - 10/01/03 12:52 PM (14 years, 2 months ago)

This was found on a drive by, in the wifes work car park, a group of about 20, I'll try to get pictures of the patch, but didnt have the camera handy.

Growing under a large English Oak, in grass.
The tubes were bright yellow, bruising blue when washed.
The pictures pretty much show the other colourings.

I'm thinking it could be Leccinum crocipodium, but I'm not sure enougth to eat it, though if it is, its listed in my book as a rare edible :]
Any thoughts?

I can't see the stem surface well in the top photo. It looks like there's pale reticulation at the top, from what I can see. That would indicate that your mushroom is a Boletus.

Do the pores bruise bluish within 30 seconds after bruising?

Happy mushrooming!
