spyware blaster - a prevention program

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed. SpywareBlaster blocks the installation of spyware ActiveX controls (such as Lop.com and Xupiter) in its database, and can even prevent them from running if they are installed. The built-in Check for Updates feature allows quick and easy database updates (released frequently). Information on all spyware covered in the database is also provided. SpywareBlaster does not need to be running in the background - simply select the items you wish to be protected against (or select all items), press the Protect button, and protection is enabled. It can also block spyware/tracking cookies, and includes a System Snapshot feature, which allows you to take a snapshot of your computer in its clean state and later revert many changes made by spyware and browser hijackers

Many thanks! If there's one thing I hate more than spam is spyware/crapware.

so far so good....since I put it in today no spyware....I know it hasn't been that long yet but before putting this lil proggy in I'd get spyware whenever I ran ad-aware(unless it was right after I did a scan)....I'll post here in a few days if my pc is still spyware free

Good deal. Definitely post your results. Personally, I would uncover one or two spyware/adware/weird cookie invaders a week with Spybot/Adaware, but that is no longer the case. Hopefully, Spywareblaster works for you too  Be sure to have updated definitions, but that goes without saying.

well I just checked for spyware with ad-aware and it only found a few files/registry entries(3 to be exact) usually after a few days it would find at least 30 so this proggy definitely works tho not perfect...as long as they keep the updates coming this is a great lil proggy to have

looks good, steer clear of an app called stopthepopup, it had my p4 running like a 486 in a matter of minutes... followed by a critically low virtual memory message when i had over a gigabyte of free space.

Try this nife:

Run Spybot once, then run Spyware Blaster. Wait one week, and try again. The next time you run Spybot, you won't have any spyware.

SpyBot and AdAware delete spyware from your system. Spyware Blaster keeps it from being installed in the first place.

thank god for mozilla firebird, spyware and popups are a thing of the past.

the people in charge of development of internet explorer should be shot in public for allowing malicious executables to install themselves through the web browser.
