I'm talking about a long exposure remote. The camera only does thirty seconds, but the timer goes to a hundred hours.

Ah yeah, my camera has bulb mode, which you can use a regular remote to make it expose for as long as you want, either by holding down the release button to your desired exposure, or just taping down the release button and letting it expose for hours at a time. I just do the ghetto method for super long exposures I guess, works though.

Smug mug is pretty legit, I agree you should try that. If not, even Flickr gave me a free terabyte of space, which is pretty much infinite for me.

I couldn't really find anything today, so I started turning logs, and got some crazy small macros. Just gotta look a little closer sometimes.

Here's some American Robin pics that I've been collecting.

How do you get all these bird shots? How do you set up in time? It's pretty impressive.

I really need to get more lenses already!

You just gotta be where they be. That and have a lot of luck for them to get in range of my tiny lense.

I'm a strong believer in camoflauge as well. Just camp out near prime territory.

Once I get a bigger lense I'll be much better off. I'm working with half the reach of most birders.

I like the feel of that shot Clay, thanks for posting, look forward to seeing you more.

Cool mallard DG, and the second squirrell shot is crisp and clean.
Also, you can never go wrong with pecker shots. :awesomenod:

Well I'm heading to south GA in the morning, so I'll take a detailed survey of the bio diversity there and report back.
Happy trails friends.

Been some great pictures over the past week or so guys!

I was out in Buffalo NY with the swim team and was hoping to head out to Niagra and check out the falls but the one day I had free time I ended up getting the 24 flu bug and wasn't able to make it out there.  So no awesome winter Niagra Falls pictures for ya..

After I got back I headed out 12 hours later for a 3 day backpacking trip on the first 50 miles of the 150 mile River to River trail down here by me.  I have done the last 100 which end up at the Mississippi River, so this is the only section I had not done starting at the Ohio River.  It was real wet and muddy and I pushed it a bit hard to try and catch the sunset (which can be seen in the first couple pictures, totally worth it) and ended up tweaking something behind my knee.  I woke up the next day and hoped I would be able to hike through it, but after ~10 miles I realized I was going too slow and it was starting to hurt more so I called it quits about 20 miles short of my destination and had someone come pick me up.

Morning shot.  I was able to watch an absolutely breathtaking sunrise from my hammock in the morning to the east, but was too warm and comfy to get out and snap a picture of it.

Now this confused me a bit.  As you can see someone set up all these rocks in a little circle here.  To the left about 15 feet is the main part of the stream, and this flowed into it about 20 feet down from here.  In the middle of this circle at the bottom water was forcefully coming up from one centralized location, as if someone had put a hose facing straight up at full blast.  In the video you can see the debri being shot up into the water from the force of the water (easier to see in the last 5 seconds of the video.  Anyone have an idea on what would be causing this?

Found this old bad boy in the middle of the woods.  61k miles on it and registers a full tank of gas ha.

And then a few randoms. First is of the starting point, on the Ohio River.

There was a bunch more I wanted to take pictures of, but all I had for pictures was my phone and I kept that off all day to save the battery.  And there are a bunch of side trails the trail guide mentioned and recommended, but I didn't have the time to check them out.  So hopefully I will get out there in the next few weeks.
