i think thats exactly what i did..

even with using a t5... i think i roasted them... i think what im gonna do is start the light way way high and lower as they get bigger.

is it to late to throw poppies into a hydro setup?

just to give u an idea, i had my fluro tubes less than an inch away from the seedlings from the start.

it strongly sounds to me if something else went way wrong as its nearly impossible to roast them with fluros.

time to reboot the program.  did you have floros and a heat pad to start or just the floros?

surprisingly the small chillies without floros while i was gone have started to do their thang..not florishing or anything but signs of life in the whatchamacallit... not peat pod the other deal.

this is my largest chili as of now, a baccatum, most likely "lingua de fusco", its quite large given i wont plant it outdoors
anytime soon haha.

for size reference, a 500ml bottle of bavarian beer (very nice btw)

as a reminder from the front page, this is how the fruits will look like :

keep your t5 light off them at least a foot at first.  gentle fan like a clip on one away from the seedlings to stimulate sturdy stems.

try saying that 5x fast...

haha mine is a few feet off of them right now and the room does get circulation.

but maybe a fat and a foot off will do the trick..

ill make the adjustments.

the key is to be close enough not to cause stretching but far enough away to not burn them.  test with the back of your hand if it feels warmer than lukewarm that's too much for that little seedling.  a gentle fan action will make the stems strong enough to not have that little seedling do a face plant.  staking is to be avoided if possible.

Cut the top off. Just under where they start the Y shape.
This will increase lateral branching, which gives better yields

Yeah, this is what my grandma does. You get a big bushy plant and more fruits.

My Vietnamese hot peppers have sprouted. I'm going to put them under lights this week.

The flowers are gorgeous! It's exciting to even watch other people's plants grow.

This is what I did to prevent my jerusalem artichokes from growing further... it didn't work in my favor.
