This alba was just a little fella when I got it from a friend, it sits on a bottom shelf of my greenhouse enjoying the shade

you should cut this leaf in half and bury the top part, 2 times more chances to grow clones ! I usually cut the leaves' nerves in multiple part of the leaf and bury the whole leaf, plantlets will grow from each cut !

What I have been doing is breaking the main vein at least 3-5 times below the soil line.
Since I have had bad results rooting whole leaves in the past cutting them always seemed like a bad idea.
I wouldn't be surprised to see another 2-3 sprouts pop up soon once it gets going more.
Would now be a good time to try and get them adjusted to some outdoor sunlight?

Never noticed this thread before now!
Just thought I'd post this pic of my albas I grew from a few leaves gifted to be by a friend.

I've NEVER seen an actual viridis with my own eyes so I've gotten to the point where I don't believe they hardly exist. Everyone that I've ever seen order viridis ALWAYS got ripped off with alba instead

I know alba is strong in DMT as well but has anyone ever tried both and have enough experience to tell us what exactly the difference is between the 2?

From my understanding alba grows quicker but is fairly less potent, these numbers are guesstimates but I believe viridis is in the 1-1.5% range while alba is more like .5-.7-1~ and chaliponga gets close to at least 2% I believe but also possibly contains at least 1 or 2 other tryptamines like bufotenin. Recently I heard of a Viridis x alba cross someone from the DMT nexus made.
This ebay seller I found awhile back claims to have a few kinds viridis as well as that hybrid but I am not sure if they will be ready to sell for a bit
He sold me like 15 alba leaves to root and 2 caapi plants for a super cheap price so I doubt he is trying to rip anyone off too.
I actually killed both the caapi but he has offered to send me a free more established replacement which seems pretty generous.

I recently got some viridis berries. I've heard psychotria is tough to germinate. Any advice? I was just gonna sterilize everything and stick them in sand.

Be prepared for a long haul man. Hope they were fresh....viability with these tropical seeds get pretty low after just a few months.

I've asked the community before if anyone has had any experience with alba and came up with nothing. All you can find online is mckenna's 1994 study and a few websites that vaguely imply its use in ayahuasca. Its honestly a shame, as I've heard alba is alot easier to grow in regard to humidity and hardiness.
They have a hybrid of viridis and alba, known as nexus. A simple google search and you will find there is a single vendor that sells it at the moment. Apparently it grows nearly as fast as alba, as hardy as alba, and contains around .4 DMT. Alas, there is not much to be said about its use either. Honestly I would get a couple leaves if they weren't so expensive.

Hey guys!
I just got like 20 'viridis' seeds. Any tips on germinating these suckers?

Iv'e had psychotria alba for a few years and the leaf cuttings are really easy to do. I just keep the soil damp and bury part of the section of leaf under the soil with a bit sticking out. I have them in a humidity chamber made from transparent(ish) white storage boxes one upside on top of the other, with a hole at the bottom for drainage and a hole at the top to let air in and out. This is on my windowsill with a small double 8w striplight sitting on top of it facing downwards.
My psychotria do fine in there but my coca plants that I was growing have died (as far as I can tell). The coca I'm just not cut out for growing though I kept them alive for 3 or 4 years. I do find that the cuttings take ages to root but I just pretty much leave the psychotrias in peace to do their thing apart from watering and ocassional misting. You definitely have to be patient with them, although for me they are ridiculously easy to grow (in the chamber).
This year I bought a rooted cutting from ebay that was claimed to be viridis, although I'm still a little unsure. The leaves pretty much start where they join the stem, where as my albas have leaves that start a little way down the leaf stem. There is one thing that didn't match what was supposed to be the typical viridis, although I don't know the terminology to explain what that was. I'll have to look into it again and see if I can work out if it is or isn't viridis, although it's growing to a bigger size now which in itself should make it more obvious what it is.
I think I have enough dried alba leaves now to try a syrian rue ayahuasca type brew. The closest Iv'e gotten to doing dmt in the past was insufflating both yopo and cebil, so it will be interesting to experience.

Lol this is everybody's response!
I mean like soil make up/temps/light cycle, should i pre-soak? it just seems no one has any conclusive info on germination.

I just picked the seeds out of the fruits(this took at least an hour and a half for 65 berries), gave them a peroxide wash and stuck them in sterile peaty soil in a humidity dome. Of course this was last night so I have yet to see if it will work.

That's what i was thinking... I have some coir/verm left over and i was just gonna load up some pots.
If im using a dome, should i use a tank with lights and heat mat? Anyone have success germin under lights?
Did you peroxide wash just for fungal problens or do you think a 24 hr soak would increase germ rates?

Noticed two sprouts today, 42 days after they were planted. I was starting to lose hope!

Did you plant them straight into soil or do any sort of pre germination?
