There ya go dude. Within no time that jar will be solid white and then the fruiting begins!

congrats kentucky!!

i always get a warm feeling when i see people in the same situation as you.

personally, this is where the hobby sucks you in (and thats a good thing!)..once you see that mycelium growing, and you know you are responsible for growing life....its just one of those 'wow' feelings.
it transcends the "i wanna get high" mentality and verges into true learning and understanding. of course its not as instant as this post makes it out to be, but you get the idea. =)

take care, and hope to see you around learnign some more kentucky =)

Is this okay? [Re: sea_of_weed]
    #1966576 - 09/30/03 05:33 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Milky fuid really spreading not as white as the other. Am I okay, here? I think it's cool, but I'm by nature paranoid and negative...Please note the contrast and note that it is not white as the other and more fluid...

Innoculated ~4 am on the 25th, pic taken around ~1 pm on today- the 30th...So, I guess a bit under 5 and one half days...added a bit of heat to them on the 28th and it seems to have helped...Then again, WTF do I know?

tape is fine for the first week or two of colonization.
if its breathable tape, its probably fine throughout the entire colonization.
the reason tremor brought this up is air exchange.

sometimes jars have stalled growth around 75-85% completion from built up co2, inverting the jars, removing the tape, tapping the cake off the bottom of the jar, etc all help that. but dont worry about such until you actually see the growth stalled.
