Morchella rufobrunnea is in season right now, it's a winter-early spring fruiter that grows in wood chips. Not really an indicator that spring Morels will be popping up in the forest, although that time is coming soon.

I checked the burns in Southern Oregon and the cups and jellies were out and soil temps were around the 50-53 range at 1400 ft. What do you think two weeks?

I'm sorry man, sick babies are heartbreaking.
The trilliums were getting ready to bloom, the ones along the creeks had almost fully formed blossoms that haven't cracked open yet. The Geopyxis carbonaria were so thick the ground looked orange in some places. Some of the brown Peziza were the size of an opened hand.

Morchella rufobrunnea fruits any time it rains, they don't need to wait for morel season.
