Serious visual
    #1961510 - 09/29/03 01:06 AM (13 years, 11 months ago)

Earlier i stood infront of my long mirror and really looked at myself. My wholeself, one solid, un-glancing, locked, gaze upon my reflection, and it tripped me out...it was as if i was zooming, almost like freeze frames of me moving up inches at a time projected at a very high speed.

Then...i just did it again, for longer....and it was as if my face started turning to stone outlayed in bronze...

I bailed out and broke the gaze at this point...

I think i might fall over if i try and go farther. Whats up? Anyone have similar experiences? These are seriously real visuals.

Only on shrooms do I stare at myself in the mirror for long periods of time

One time I was in the dark on HBWR and seen a twirling visuals that would go into blur then into high detail... Then roll/move then breathe... Did that 20 more times, slowing down each time.

The visuals were insane...

I believe the Tibetan lamas stare into mirrors for long periods of time as meditation.

It's kind of like staring at a Magic Eye book - you gaze at your reflection in the mirror, and relax your eyes, and just sort of focus on the unfocusless (if that makes sense). If you try and concentrate on what you're looking at, then the visuals just stop, but if you keep on staring loosely at your face, you can see a whole bunch of interesting things.
Some people even claim that you can see people you were in a past life in the mirror. Well, I wouldn't go that far, but I do think it's interesting.

I saw a girl scream while looking at her friend thinking she was Michael Myers, she got really scared. I kinda feel like a dick for just laughing and not helping her, now.

Ive been smoking hash and honey oil most of the day everyday lately, i was probably high at the time...

The first time i looked at my face on mushrooms it was pretty scary, and then it fell off. Watching my face turn to stone yesterday, was really neat.

I heard our brains have strange mechanisms for remembering the detail in people's faces so we can tell them apart; maybe youre effecting the normal mechanisms with your gaze.

This could very well be true. Our brain interprets facing in a much different way than we do with normal visual objects. It even has a special centre for this. In some people this gets knocked out and they can't recognize faces, not even those of friends. They need to look at hair/eye color etc, to guess who someone is.
While staring in a mirror you might disable your normal face-recognition and see/interpret your face differently.
