Psilocybin Therapy
    #1961204 - 09/28/03 11:34 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

A friend of mine is probably still having his bad trip. He ate five grams of dried. What sucks is he seems to seek a bad trip. I haven't tripped with him of yet, from what he has said he's never had fun on them! He seeks the ego loss for the confrontation of past and present issues. I am the opposite of that trip, I like to be with my friends, have fun, get loud, 'trip out' you know. Thats the kind of level I like to be on. A bad, therapeutic, 'loss of ego' trip seems like a nightmare to me and I'm glad I havent decided to go on one or ended up on one. This really bothers me because this friend is like my brother and he was in tears last I saw him. Yet he chose this, to me that is heartwrenching. And I can't imagine one wanting to do this!

why do you assume that ego-loss is bad? If you have not experienced such states, it is quite difficult to comprehend. Higher level psychedelic experiences are not for everyone. Perhaps have your friend try to verbalize what occurs at that level, and perhaps you'll catch a glimpse

I don't think ego loss is bad. Being by myself and having to be on such a terrible level, confronting past issues and finding answers, a complete introvert experience is what I dont enjoy. I'm just saying this because of what I viewed of his actions. All is well thos he came to me today and said he found his answers and it's all about the love. See just the other day he had terrible family ties break down and hasn't been himself, been on the grey side of things you know. So when he took the dose he confronted these issues but it tore him down. And I couldn't help. But he came through it all. And has changed for the good!!

Both types of trips have their place.

"A nation's hope of lasting peace cannot be firmly based upon any race in armaments but rather upon just relations and honest understanding with all other nations...

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed... The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people..."

President Dwight Eisenhower, 1953

5g is a lot, too. 2g is a fun dose. Try that.
