i would just like to say how great mush is. i just listend to an interview of a monk on the radio and he said that after 20 years of meditating and listening to his breath he realized how delicate a human is and that we "breath air". this made me think that if he had done shrooms he could have realized alot more then that. i know how delicate humans are and how antisocial humans are even though we have friends and family... have u ever sat on a bus and just started talking to the person next to you. usually they look at you like your crazy. sorry im rambling but i just wanted to say some stuff... do u have any realizations or situations were people could have solved there problems with drugs? thanxx

I don't know anybody who's solved their problems with drugs.

I don't know anyone who's solved their problems.
I do, however, know many who have transcended them.

Drugs don't necessarily solve problems, but they can offer direction or insight that the person can then take or discard. If you really wanna have your ass kicked out of negative habits and onto the path that would truly satisfy you, look into iboga.

I have managed to solve some of my worst relationship problems while on mushrooms.

Yeah, but then you could argue that the change only happened because you were both willing to open up to each other. I think in a lot of cases drugs can be a catalyst to solve problems, but they can never solve problems without someone being open for change.

No... I've flat out solved some problems BECAUSE of a drug-induced experience.
I am without doubt on this one.

I think it is only you that can solve your problems. you could say that the mushrooms opened up your mind to new ideas, but hey you were already open-minded enough to actually try them. I truley believe that everyone has their own path unique to them. It took the guy 20 years to appreciate his breathe and see how fragile humans are and you figured it out on mushrooms. doesn't mean you are further along than he is. maybe focusing for 20 years with determination brings along an appreciation of breath that is so much deeper than a realization brought on by mushrooms.
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Come on, how much can you really appreciate breathing? It only goes so far, you know. I'll not say anything about being 'further' than anyone else, because I rarely think in those terms. But 20 years to appreciate breath and the frailty of the human body? That does seem like very little spiritual gain for two decades of dedication. Anyway, on topic... I have solved some of my problems through visionary experience, but I have to admit the shrooms just showed me the way, I had to do the rest.

people, drugs do not solve problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
psychedelics can lead to essential insights but it is only you who can solve your problems.
also, as much as many of us (including me) hate to believe it, drugs, including mushrooms, and even pot are bad for you! drug use in itself is a problem. i take drugs often but at least i can admit that its not a good thing.

Drug use in itself is a problem? Or addiction to it is a problem? Why is drug use in itself a problem, and not a good thing? Mental conditioning still has a shred in your mind, eh? Damn propaganda! Damn it again! Peace.

The problem with the astonishing realizations thrust upon us by magic mushrooms and the like is that they are not very sticky. With time, they become over-articulated notions, then memories, then ideals as weightless as the institutionalized religious beliefs ingrained in our society.
If by using psychedelic drugs we stir up some of the dirt on the ground, it is only a short matter of time before the wind erases the impression made. When meditating, however, it is like resting a heavy stone there for ages and ages. The impression is not readily disturbed, as the environment has also progressed around it. This is why I believe that while psychedelics drugs can of course be an enormously beneficial catylist to great change and understanding, it is up to us to ensure those new insights remain.
