Tripping from meditation?
    #1959555 - 09/28/03 01:46 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I've heard that through meditation, one can reach the same state of mind that they reach while tripping. Has anyone here experienced this? Was it exactly like tripping? If not, how was it different?

More like a trance-state.
Though I don't doubt if you reach deep into that trance, some would find it having tripping-like qualities.
In my experience meditation has many levels. I have reached a few of these. It ranges from the very light meditative state, to the deep, subconscious, trance-like state. It probably goes deeper than that, but I don't know about that.

But yeah, you can make yourself "trip" through concentration alone.

I have a friend back home who says that when he opens his eyes after deep meditation, he can see people's auras really clearly.

I have experienced the same thing. I think it just lets you clear things out.. and be able to focus more clearly on the spiritual.

I have been meditating for many years now. When I sit, after about ten minutes I start to see visuals similiar to tripping such as breathing walls, shifts in brightness, etc. They go away after a while as the meditation deepens... or I loose track of them, I'm not sure which to be honest.
