I have known women who were became pregnant between ages 16-18. I have also known young couples who had a few children they couldn't afford. Guess what, they turned out fine, and the kids grew up to be decent and moral human beings. Some of these families started out very poor, and then acquired more and more money as they became older and landed stable careers. Not having money while you are young, does not mean that they will NEVER have money the rest of their lives, simply because they started out poor.
How much money somebody makes also does not determine how good that kid grows up to be.
Take my best friend, he came from a super rich family. He grew up to be a crackhead and a thief and I don't think he ever even finished high school. He also knocked up an 18 year old girl and then bailed, and has never been in his own kid's life.
Al Gore's kid too, also grew up to be a drug addict. I remember he got arrested on multiple drug charges like a few streets down the road from where I used to live.
Rather than forced sterilization, how about forcing fathers who create children to be a fucking parent and look after their kids. I mean let's face it, most of these emotional and monetary problems could easily be fixed if the father was involved in the kid's life. Yet so many of you are paradoxically against child support, which makes me go WTF?
Even forced birth control would be a far better idea than forced sterilization... provided that the safer men's BC methods come out to the U.S.

And frankly, many of you place too much emphasis on money for happiness. In reality, I think that parents who spend too much time working and not paying any attention to their kids because they are so busy making tons of money, is just as damaging emotionally as kids who grow up in poverty. I believe that's honestly why my best friend and Al Gore's son turned out so fucked up. The way that they act is a cry for help from their inattentive parents.

If you can't afford to raise your kids you shouldn't be having more of them. Sometimes people with children run in to tough times, I understand that. Its when they keep pumping them out I take issue.
Also, being poor and having kids is much different someone not having any income having a child every 9 months. Its not fair to the children and its not fair to the taxpayers.
